2023 Newmarket Youth Basketball registration will open at the beginning of September! Programming for K-2 will run on Saturdays only, while older players will have practice during the week and a game on Saturdays (Beginning in late December). Weekday practices are usually one day each week pending gym availability. The schedule will be released once registration is near completion in order to ascertain program numbers and needs. Games and practices taking place in Newmarket will be held at either Newmarket Elementary or the Jr./Sr. High School
Newmarket is a part of a cooperative league including the towns of Durham, Epping, Nottingham and Strafford. Players in grades 3-8 will have games on Saturdays beginning in late December and up to February vacation. There is travel involved for some of these games. There will be opportunities for any interested player (Grades 3-8) to continue playing into March if they would like to join the end of season tournament teams.
Schedule
Skill sessions and practices will begin on Saturday November 25th and run through February 17th. All ages will meet on Saturdays and games are slated to begin (unofficially) starting on December 16th. Practice times and locations are TBD and based on gym availability throughout the winter, but a typical schedule is below:
Saturday (Elementary school)
- 8 am to 9 am: Kindergarten
- 9 am to 10 am: Grades 1/2
- 10 am to 11 am: Grades 3/4 boys
- 11 am to noon: Grades 5/6 boys
Saturday (Jr. Sr. High School)
- 8 am to 9 am: Grades 3/4 girls
- 9 am to 10 am: Grades 5/6 girls
- 10 am to 11 am: Grades 7/8 boys
- 11 am to noon: Grade 7/8 girls
Wednesday (Elementary School):
- 5 pm to 6 pm: 3/4 boys
- 6 pm to 7 pm: 3/4 girls
- 7 pm to 8 pm: 5/6 boys
Thursday (Elementary School):
- 5 pm to 6 pm: 5/6 girls
- 6 pm to 7 pm: 7/8 girls
- 7 pm to 8 pm: 7/8 boys
